What Is the Law of Attraction and How Do You Actually Use It?

The Law of Attraction has been talked about so much that it’s easy to dismiss it as self-help fluff. But strip away the oversimplification, and what you find underneath is a principle with genuine philosophical and scientific depth — one that, when properly understood and consistently practiced, genuinely changes outcomes.

This post isn’t going to tell you to make a vision board and wait. It’s going to explain what the Law of Attraction actually is, why it works, and what the real practice looks like.

What the Law of Attraction Actually States

At its core, the Law of Attraction states that like attracts like — that the energy, frequency, and quality of your dominant thoughts and emotions tend to attract corresponding experiences, circumstances, and people into your life.

This isn’t magic. It operates through several interconnected mechanisms that are well understood in psychology and neuroscience.

First, your Reticular Activating System (RAS) — the brain’s filtering mechanism — surfaces information relevant to what you’re focused on. Focus on scarcity and your brain finds evidence of scarcity everywhere. Focus on opportunity and it finds opportunities. The world doesn’t change. Your perception of it does. And perception drives action.

Second, your emotional state influences your behavior in ways you often don’t consciously notice. A person in a confident, abundant mindset makes different decisions, takes different risks, and communicates differently than someone operating from fear and lack. Those behavioral differences produce different outcomes — which look, from the outside, like the universe responding to their energy.

Third, your energy genuinely affects others. The electromagnetic field your heart generates — measurable, extending several feet beyond your body — interacts with the fields of people around you. High-coherence states attract coherent responses. People feel your frequency before they process your words.

Why Most People Get It Wrong

The most common misconception about the Law of Attraction is that thinking positively is sufficient — that if you just believe hard enough and feel good enough, what you want will arrive. This is where the “just manifest it” culture goes wrong.

The Law of Attraction is not a replacement for action. It’s a multiplier of it. Your thoughts and emotions set the frequency. Your actions are the causes that produce the effects. Both are required. Attraction without action is daydreaming. Action without the right inner frequency often produces outcomes that feel hollow or that collapse quickly.

The other common error is focusing on what you don’t want rather than what you do. “I don’t want to be broke” keeps the energy focused on brokenness. “I am building financial abundance” focuses energy on the desired state. The brain doesn’t process negatives well — it moves toward whatever you’re most focused on, whether that focus is positive or negative.

How to Actually Practice It

Get clear on what you want. Vague intentions produce vague results. The more specifically you can define what you’re attracting — in detail, with emotional resonance — the more your RAS can surface relevant opportunities and the more precisely your actions can align with the goal.

Feel it as if it’s already true. This is the emotional component that most people skip or fake. You don’t have to pretend circumstances are different. But you can access the feeling of your desired state — gratitude, confidence, peace, abundance — in the present moment, through visualization, affirmation, and memory of past times you felt that way. That feeling is the frequency you’re broadcasting.

Take aligned action. Move toward what you want. Take the steps, make the calls, create the work, show up consistently. The Law of Attraction doesn’t remove the need for effort — it makes your effort more coherent and therefore more effective.

Release the outcome. Desperation is a low-frequency state that repels what you want. Attachment to a specific outcome introduces fear of not getting it, which broadcasts scarcity rather than abundance. Do the inner work, take the action, and then release control of the exact form the result takes. Trust the process without being passive about it.

Curate your environment. What you surround yourself with is a constant input into your frequency. Your media diet, your social circle, the spaces you inhabit, the words on your clothes — all of it contributes to your dominant energetic state. Design your environment to support the frequency you want to maintain.

The High Phase Connection

This is exactly why we build what we build. High Phase apparel is a wearable environmental input — a deliberate, daily contribution to the frequency you’re trying to maintain. The affirmations on your shirt are reminders of the inner state you’re cultivating. The sacred geometry connects you to the universal patterns you’re aligning with. Every time you look down and see your design, it’s a micro-moment of re-attunement to your intention.

You are always attracting. The only question is whether you’re doing it consciously or by default.

Positive thoughts create positive outcomes. That is the Law of Attraction in seven words.
